John Hewer and Moira Campbell-Hewer

After having spent many years living and working in Edinburgh, the city where we were both born, we decided as soon as our children left home to literally “make a run for the hills”, (tho’ it didn’t seem to take them very long to discover our whereabouts!!), and move up here to this gorgeous part of Scotland where we had spent a great deal of our leisure time.

Without doubt it has turned out to be one of the best decisions we have ever made, (frequently visiting sons and daughters notwithstanding), due in equal measure to both the location and the local people.

I’m John and after an extensive career in printing and publishing, my prime responsibility now is looking after our guests and the day to day running of Eagle View. I think it is fair to say that it couldn’t be more different from my previous life but I am loving every single minute of it.

During the few leisure hours that I now have, I guess I could be described as a bit of an ‘adrenaline junkie’, paragliding, snowboarding and ski-ing being high on my list of priorities and so accessible that I am just unable to resist!

Moira, on the other hand, combines managing Eagle View with part time tutoring in English Lit and Language, an occupation she really enjoys too much to wholly abandon. As for her leisure hours they are also split fairly evenly between ONE - the pursuit of wandering through the hills and glens around our home with the 'canine loves of her life', two Airedale Terriers and a Border Collie cross, and TWO - the purchase of shoes!!!!!!!! Now I know how Ferdinand Marcos must have felt!
