Eating at Eagle View
As from Spring 2008 we are offering good quality, fresh home cooking for our guests. At £20 per adult (half price for children under 16), we offer three courses with soft drinks and tea or coffee to finish. We are not licenced but you are welcome to bring your own wines and beers. On arrival please let us know if you may want dinner during your visit.
Eating out
Newtonmore has a variety of places to eat at lunchtime or in the evening, it really just depends on what you feel like at the time.
BLASTA* (Gaelic for "Tasty" and well-named too) (a 5 minute walk from Eagle View). Chris and Shirlie have recently completely refurbished the restaurant to a very high standard. It offers quality dining with a superb atmosphere. Simply magic.
Chris and Kim at the GLEN HOTEL (a 2 minute walk) offer great value and good quality food either in their lounge bar or separate dining room. Look out for the Specials Board!!
Recently voted regional 'Pub of the Year' by CAMRA for the fourth year running! A right nice brew as Chris would say and I, for one, would agree with him.
At the BRAERIACH (a four minute walk) Dell and Sam offer a good range of bar suppers in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
There are also two coffee shops and a Bistro in the village offering morning coffees, afternoon teas, lunches and early evening meals.
In KINGUSSIE a five minute drive along the road, THE CROSS* offers really fine dinning and for that extra special occasion
Lydie Bocquillon and her staff at THE AULD ALLIANCE* will give you quality dining worthy of the very finest of restaurants.
Further afield, there is a good choice of restaurants in Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey, too numerous to mention here, but look out especially for ROO’S LEAP an Australian burger bar and THE OLD BRIDGE INN at Aviemore and CRAGGAN MILL* which offers fine dining in Grantown-on-Spey.
The restaurants marked * are extremely popular and we strongly advise that you make a booking in advance, we are happy to do this for you, if you wish. |
